Beach & Waterfront Cleanups
We support cleanups of the beaches and waterways where we ride. Find opportunities here to join local communities in caring for them.
KOREA ECO ACTION
Starboard Korea aims to bring Starboard's environmental approach to Korean seas and waterways. Explore practical ways for riders, Eco Frontier and local communities to take part together.
OUR DIRECTION
We support cleanups of the beaches and waterways where we ride. Find opportunities here to join local communities in caring for them.
Start by using a reusable water bottle and taking your rubbish home. Together, we can build a habit of reducing waste on the water and in everyday life.
We share the value of environmental care and practical ways to take part. Bring us your ideas for working with Eco Frontier and activities in your community.

Enjoying the sea and collecting litter while walking Gwangalli Beach: for Haebom, environmental action starts with small everyday steps.
Haebom says that seeing children wearing masks during COVID-19 made her reflect on the everyday freedoms she had enjoyed and the environment future generations would inherit. She began looking for actions she could take beyond simply understanding the problem.
She discovered plogging: collecting litter while walking or jogging. Gwangalli Beach, already part of her morning routine, gradually became a place to act for the ocean as well as admire it.
At first, she simply took a plastic bag from home to the beach. Although conscious of people watching, she reminded herself she was doing something worthwhile and began picking up litter. In the interview, she also recalls bringing cigarette butts and plastic fragments home and sorting them one by one.
Recording and sharing small actions did not feel easy at first. Haebom says the people she met through plogging and social media helped build her confidence and the courage to try new things.
Gwangalli was once a place where she looked at the sea or briefly dipped her feet in it. SUP and open-water swimming made it a treasured place she visits often. Enjoyment on the water grew into gratitude, and gratitude into a wish to care for the sea.
For Haebom, the point is not to fill a bag every time, but to make caring for nature part of life. Enjoying the sea and keeping it clean can belong to the same everyday routine.
When someone on the beach joined her in picking up litter and said they too could do something, Haebom realised a small action could encourage another person. Encounters like this, as much as major achievements, gave her reasons to continue.
Rather than trying to do everything perfectly, learn and change one thing at a time—and share the process with others. Haebom's story invites us to consider one small action we can take today for the sea we enjoy.
“Anyone can make a difference.”
Haebom believes plogging is something anyone can do.
