Some trips begin with a competition and leave lasting memories of waves and people. The LSR Cosmic Experience has brought longboard SUP enthusiasts together in Sanur, Bali, to ride and connect.
For Starboard riders, this is more than a place to watch a contest. Take a lesson at the center, cheer on fellow riders and share stories of a day spent at sea.
Your own day in Sanur
Rip Curl School of Surf Sanur, the Starboard center in Sanur, Bali, is a base for SUP, surfing, wing, kite and foil. Programs range from longboard surfing to trips to Lembongan Island.
Beginners can ask about learning to paddle on calm water, while those with wave experience can explore SUP surfing lessons suited to their level. Even companions with different experience can each plan a day they will enjoy.
Even when there is no competition, Sanur offers a day on the water.
Meeting riders from around the world on long boards
In 2025, more than 65 riders gathered from over 15 countries. Beginning with a Hindu blessing ceremony, they shared waves, experienced Sanur’s culture and met fellow riders from across the world.
Watch the 2024 and 2025 videos together to feel the atmosphere created by the waves and riders. Time spent watching one another ride is as much a part of the trip as the winning moments.

Five years of memories, a story continuing into 2027
The founders’ retrospective, “Five Good Years — The LSR Cosmic Experience,” captures the work and pride behind five years of the event. At its heart are memories of riders, families and friends enjoying Sanur together, and friendships formed across countries.
Five years of connections carry forward to the next generation. The longboard SUP celebration returns to Sanur, Bali, on March 17–22, 2027.
What brings people back to LSR goes beyond results: the waves and the people they share them with.
